About Our Academy

The Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy is an elementary Pre-K through Grade 8 school, located on several campuses in the Dorchester and Mattapan neighborhoods of the City of Boston, that dynamically prepares children for life in the 21st century. Our Academy strives to create an atmosphere where the Gospel message is proclaimed, community in Christ is experienced, service to our brothers and sisters is the norm and thanksgiving and worship of God is reverently and joyfully celebrated.

About Our After School Program

The Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy Extended Day Program strives to provide a safe and active environment for our students. We consider our program an extension of the school day, encouraging learning through many different programs that build upon our curriculum. Activities such as arts and crafts, tutoring, homework help and sports are just some of the programs that will be offered throughout the Academy. Music, fencing and theatre arts will also be offered for an additional fee.

About this Website

I designed this website to serve a need in our After School Program: namely, a good-looking “gateway site” that would provide links to activities and resources for both students and teachers. Other such sites exist, but they often suffer from an overabundance of materials. This site aims to be pared down, simple, connected to only the best resources—and grassroots. In other words, all the links are to sites that are both high-quality and popular on our campuses in Dorchester and Mattapan.
